Music and SFX for JungleRunner is now complete!

24. June, 2012|News|No comments

We were lucky to hire Luke Thomas on short notice as the first composer/musician turned out to be unable to help out. The JungleRunner music and sounds are now complete and fits the game nicely! It has taken way longer than I anticipated to get this small game together, but it’s nearing the end for this project now :)

A small update of our progress on  JungleRunner, the iOS game we’re making. The game project is getting closer to the end now, waiting for music concepts and adding a highscore system would be next to do. Here is an updated clip of a test level, without music: Read more

JungleRunner app test was a great success!

After some initial problems getting the game to run on mac, we were able to build and test JungleRunner on both iPad and iPhone today. The problem was not present on the win pc, but made the game crash on the mac when we tested. After some trial and error,we discovered the problem was caused by the way the .txt files were stored on the win pc, our main development platform. These files need to be stored in a “unix” format in order to be handled properly when building app on the mac. Read more

JungleRunner is getting close to being finished. These days we’re polishing the code and graphics and have started shopping for musicians to create the music and some sounds for it. Sunday morning

29. April, 2012|News|No comments

Got up early today, started working on the website, added a bit of info about the team. Being sunday, there’s little activity on both Skype and other forums I hang round in, so I picked up the storywriting for “Legendary”, a game we’re making with our main game company based here in Norway. Yeah I know, it might be a bit confusing, so I’ll try and stick with Ironthrone game projects and updates in Read more

New website – new possibilities

27. April, 2012|News|No comments

When I first got into the idea of developing games for handheld devices, I never knew it would be this difficult to put together a tiny team for developing the games, let alone that it would take 2 years without even having a single finished game playable or published. I can say I have learned from experience that teams made up of people working for free/working for a percentage of the sales profit once launched is a highly unrealiable team.

People might have various reasons for joining non-paid projects/indie game teams, and they find various reasons for quitting also. Or simply disappear, leaving the rest of the team behind with a broken project.
I’ve designed and spent a massive amount of time on graphics and documents for many games, sadly most of them are now in limbo due to the fact mentioned above, except for a few being pushed forward with steady speed these days. I’ll get back to the ongoing projects pretty soon in other posts and I’ll put up separate pages for each of the games, containing vital info, concept art, screenshots and possibly some videos of them as well.

But there’s more good news; chance came and poked me in the chest, I grabbed it and I’m now becoming part owner of a new game development studio based in Norway. I’ll still keep Ironthrone Games as a means to possibly develop tiny game projects along with other programmers, not affiliated with the studio I’m now one of the owners of. I’ll tell you more about this in a future post.
